Research Update
emP3 Flush & Holding Media
A comparison study with Partnar’s emP3 TM Complete Flush and Holding Media was undertaken at Royal Vista Southwest, Purcell, OK during the summer of 2007.
The study compared emP3 Flush and Hold with Emcare (ICPbio, NewZealand) Flush and Hold media.
Mares were randomly assigned to each treatment group. They were flushed on Day 7 post ovulation with between 3-5L of either solution. Embryo search was conducted within 15-20 minutes following the flush and embryo moved into their respective holding solution. Embryo were held in the holding solution under refrigerated conditions in an Equitainer (Hamilton-Thorne) for 5-10 hours prior to transfer.
Recipients were managed with standard protocols used at this facility and all recipients were scanned at Day 25 post transfer for the presence of a fetal heartbeat.
